Demon Hunters in K-Pop: The MBTI® Types of All Main Characters

découvrez les types mbti® de tous les personnages principaux inspirés des chasseurs de démons dans la k-pop ! analyse de personnalité, profils psychologiques et curiosités sur vos idols préférés dans ce mélange unique entre k-pop et psychologie.

Like many parents looking to spend time with family, I recently had the opportunity to watch K-Pop Demon Hunters with my children. I wasn’t sure what to expect. I love Korean media in general, so I was excited to discover this film.
But the concept seemed a bit… original. Saving the world from demons through singing? I’m more used to seeing heroes like Tanjiro and the Hashira fighting demons with swords, flames, mist, and wind in Demon Slayer. However, K-Pop Demon Hunters surprised me with its depth, complexity, and rich storytelling! I loved its message of authenticity, honesty, forgiveness, and redemption. It was surprisingly deep for a children’s film, and it sparked many conversations with my children that may have annoyed them (“Mom! Why do you have to turn everything into a lesson!”), but it also helped us grow as a family.

Of course, as you know, I can’t watch anything without trying to profile the characters. After reflection and analysis, I came up with my best guesses regarding the personality types of the protagonists. Keep in mind that I can’t actually sit down in front of Rumi and interview her (surprising, right?). I can only guess from snippets of information here and there, so take these typings with caution. After all, they are fictional characters, and they don’t always perfectly replicate humans.

K-Pop Demon Hunters features rich, well-developed characters, each endowed with distinct personality traits that make them unique and endearing.

Rumi Kang is the perfect embodiment of the Protagonist (ENFJ) type: magnetic, determined, and bearing the weight of everyone’s well-being on her shoulders. As the leader of HUNTR/X, she does not merely perform choreographies and sing perfectly in tune; she is the emotional pillar of the group, the one who keeps everyone aligned on the mission and the music.

At her core, Rumi operates on harmony and responsibility. She intuitively reads the room, whether it’s an arena full of fans or the tense silence before a battle against a demon.

She is fully invested in saving humanity, even at the cost of her own comfort and well-being. She hides her semi-demonic nature not just because she fears rejection, but also because she doesn’t want to burden her friends with her pain.

Even when she exhausts herself, her instinct is to reassure others, to put on a brave face, and to push everyone forward.

It’s Fe: an incessant urge to protect relationships and inspire others, even at a personal cost.

Some have suggested that Rumi could be a Te-dom (ENTJ), but again and again, Rumi places the well-being of humanity above her own desires and needs. She is a seeker of harmony, a unifier, an idealist who wants to connect people. An ENTJ might also care about people, but they pair that with a logical and direct approach that doesn’t really care who it offends or annoys in the process.

Ni (Introverted Intuition) – The Golden Vision

Like many ENFJs, Rumi is guided by a singular, long-term vision: the creation of the Golden Honmoon. She clings to this mission as the meaning of her life, believing it will finally liberate her from her demonic heritage.

She endures exhausting rehearsals despite a tired voice because the vision matters more than the pain.

She interprets her entire identity through this prism of destiny: if she can achieve it, she will be “worthy” and fully human.

This focus on Ni makes her both inspiring and, at times, tunnel-visioned, so devoted to her goal that she forgets to live in the present.

Part of what makes Rumi credible as a superstar is her natural Se flair. She knows how to be in the moment when needed: dazzling under the spotlight, commanding presence in battle. Her timing, awareness, and ability to react to what’s happening now keep her alive in a world where demons don’t wait for long-term plans.

But under stress, she can misuse Se by throwing herself into reckless, self-destructive stunts, such as confronting danger alone instead of trusting her team.

Ti (Introverted Thinking) – The Problem-Solving in Solitude

Although this is her weakest function, Ti manifests in Rumi’s tendency to keep secrets and overthink privately. Instead of asking for help from her team, she disappears into self-analysis: If I understand this myself, I won’t risk putting them in danger. It’s noble, but also isolating. She falls into the trap of the ENFJ of carrying the world alone until she is almost broken.

Why ENFJ fits Rumi

  • Charismatic Leader: She is the face of HUNTR/X, equally comfortable inspiring fans as she is rallying her team.
  • Self-Sacrificing Protector: Ready to exhaust herself to protect others.
  • Guided by a Vision: Obsession with a future destiny that gives meaning to her suffering.
  • Emotional Depth: Warm, compassionate, but haunted by fear of rejection.

Rumi’s ENFJ nature explains why she shines so brightly on stage while fighting fiercely in private. She is the archetype of the Protagonist in the most literal sense: a leader whose power is rooted in her ability to inspire, but whose downfall comes when she forgets that she deserves to be loved, even without the mask.

Zoey Jo-iENFP, The Enthusiast

Zoey is the spark that keeps the group from collapsing under all this pressure. As the maknae and main rapper of HUNTR/X, she is playful, charming, distracted, and yet always deadly with a set of enchanted knives.

Zoey’s mind continually swings from one idea to another.

She wonders if perhaps the demons could be “nice,” because in her world, there’s always another perspective to consider.

She filled her school notebooks with lyrics that no one appreciated at the time, but she never stopped dreaming.

She is often described as scatterbrained, curious, and the one everyone turns to when they need to think outside the box.

Her Ne is what makes her magnetic—curious, spontaneous, and overflowing with creative possibilities. But it also makes her easily distracted, easily swept away by shiny things (or shiny boys).

Fi (Introverted Feeling) – The Tender Heart

Under her playful exterior, Zoey has deep values and fragile insecurities. She often wonders if she is “too much” or “not enough,” a tension that many ENFPs know well.

Having grown up between two cultures, she sometimes feels as if she doesn’t entirely belong to either.

In Golden, she pours her heart into lyrics about being caught between two worlds and misunderstood.

She wants to believe the best in people and see a new perspective, even when they seem to be demons (like in the case of the Saja boys).

This level of Fi makes Zoey a character with emotional stakes, someone who wants to be loved for her authentic self.

ENFPs aren’t known for their rigid structure, but Zoey can act quickly when needed. Knife in hand, she is surprisingly competent in battle, channeling that ability of ENFPs to improvise and act when circumstances require.

Yet, her Te isn’t as developed; it manifests more in improvised problem-solving than in carefully laid plans. That’s what makes her lovable: she figures things out as she goes, and we support her regardless.

Si (Introverted Sensing) – The Ghost of Insecurities

Zoey’s weakest function manifests in her doubts. She remembers all the times people ignored her energy or called her “weird.” These echoes of the past sometimes sabotage her confidence. That’s why Gwi-Ma can creep into her head—her doubt lingers like a bruise she can’t shake off.

Why ENFP fits Zoey

  • Enthusiastic and Playful: Typical enthusiasm of ENFPs, always the spark in the room.
  • Easily Distracted: Drawn to music, fun, and possibilities, even when demons are at work.
  • Guided by Values: Deeply sensitive to trust, belonging, and authenticity.
  • Adorable Chaos: Both reckless and radiant, she is the heart that makes HUNTR/X feel like family.

Zoey’s ENFP energy brings warmth and lightness to K-Pop Demon Hunters. She is the friend you want by your side in a fight—not because she is perfect, but because she will make you laugh, remind you why you’re fighting, and throw a knife with perfect timing at the same time.

MiraISFP, The Artist Challenger

Mira is the fire you don’t see coming until it’s right in front of you. On stage, she is the lead dancer of HUNTR/X. In battle, she is the one who won’t hesitate to take down a demon. Off stage? Mira’s sarcasm can cut deeper than her knives.

Most people expect ISFPs to be gentle flower-pickers. Mira proves that stereotype completely wrong. ISFPs can be fierce, especially when paired with an Enneagram 8 edge. ISFPs who are also Enneagram 8 are passionate, reactive, blunt, and do not tolerate masks or hypocrisy. Mira embodies all this.

Fi (Introverted Feeling) – The Uncompromising Heart

Mira’s decisions always come down to what feels authentic to her. She doesn’t care if her honesty hurts—she will say things as she sees them.

“I’m good at reading people, what are you hiding?” This line from Rumi perfectly illustrates the ISFP perspective. They excel at reading people, thanks to their understanding of human motivation and their keen awareness of physical and emotional cues.

When Rumi’s behavior changes, Mira notices immediately and refuses to let it slide.

She’s not afraid to give ultimatums if she feels her values or the safety of her team are at stake.

Her loyalty to Zoey and Rumi does not come from duty but from genuine affection. Finally, she has found people who accept her for who she is.

Fi gives her that mix of bluntness and hidden vulnerability: she prefers to be hated for being real than loved for being fake. Fi always wants to be real, even if it hurts, upsets, or feels “rebellious.”

As an ISFP, Mira is tuned into the present moment. She is the group’s lead dancer, with razor-sharp precision in her movements, and equally sharp in battle.

She can throw darts backward over her head and hit her target.

She reacts quickly when demons strike, relying on instinct rather than long-term plans.

She also enjoys joking with Zoey in lighter moments, showing that playful and spontaneous side of Se.

But Se also makes her angry; her reactions can be impulsive, heated, and sometimes harder than she wishes.

Ni (Introverted Intuition) – The Innate Skepticism

Mira’s constant refrain is: “What are you hiding?” She can’t shake her intuition that something is off with Rumi, and she keeps digging until the truth surfaces. Although it’s not her dominant strength, her Ni makes her perceptive to underlying currents, always questioning what lies beneath the surface.

Mira is not one to follow grand ideals or spend her time brainstorming—when something needs to be done, she is direct. Fight now, ask questions later. It’s this practical edge that keeps HUNTR/X on track when Rumi overly fixates and Zoey gets distracted by… shiny things.

Why ISFP fits Mira

  • Authentic: Prefers being alone rather than fake.
  • Reactive: Quick to act on her emotions and impulses, whether to protect her friends or call someone out.
  • Current of Compassion: Underneath the sarcasm, she cares deeply—her acceptance of Rumi’s secret proves it.

Mira shows us the side of ISFPs that doesn’t get enough light: not the quiet dreamer, but the fiery challenger. She is living proof that authenticity can be a weapon, and that brutal honesty, when tempered by loyalty, can be the glue that holds a group together.

CelineISTJ, The Guardian

“Our flaws and fears must never be visible. That’s the only way to protect the Honmoon!”

Celine is the pillar of tradition in K-Pop Demon Hunters. Former elegant singer of the Sunlight Sisters, she now serves as a mentor and maternal figure for Rumi, shaping the next generation of hunters. She is the perfect example of the ISTJ personality: reliable, principled, and silently bearing a life of duty.

Si (Introverted Sensing) – The Keeper of Tradition

Celine is steeped in the past. Her entire life revolves around honoring Mi-yeong’s legacy, maintaining the hunters’ traditions, and passing them on without deviation.

She is logical and straightforward, communicating clearly without much emotional appeal.

Her worldview is shaped by decades of learned rules and rituals.

Her nostalgia for the discipline of the Sunlight Sisters guides every choice she makes.

Te (Extraverted Thinking) – The Standards Enforcer

Celine leads by example. She holds herself to the same level of discipline that she expects from them.

She gives sharp but fair critiques, pushing the trio to reach their full potential.

She molds HUNTR/X with an almost managerial mentality: selecting members, setting goals, and keeping them on track.

Her Te keeps the mission on course, but it can also seem inflexible, leaving little room for messy feelings or gray areas.

Fi (Introverted Feeling) – The Hidden Loyalty

Although she projects discipline, Celine deeply cares for Rumi. Taking her in after Mi-yeong’s death was not just an obligation; it was a personal vow of love and loyalty.

Her refusal to acknowledge Rumi’s demonic side comes from fear, not malice: fear that Rumi will be rejected, hurt, or hated by the world.

Even in her strict rules, she tries to protect. It’s misdirected, but deeply personal.

ISTJs often struggle with flexibility, and Celine is no exception. Her worldview is built on certainty: demons are evil, hunters are just, tradition will save us. When Rumi starts to question these binaries, Celine wavers. New ideas threaten the stability upon which she has built her life, and it takes time (and her love for Rumi) to break that rigidity.

Why ISTJ fits Celine

  • Traditionalist Mentor: Educates the new generation in the image of the old.
  • Disciplined and Reliable: Leads with structure, consistency, and duty.
  • Protective but Rigid: Her love for Rumi is real, but filtered through a strict belief system.
  • Archetype of the Guardian: She sees her role as one of protecting others from chaos, even if it means suppressing uncomfortable truths.

Celine’s ISTJ nature makes her a stabilizing force and a storyteller of caution: the guardian who gives her life to duty, but risks smothering those she loves if she can’t bend.

BobbyESFJ, The Caregiver

Bobby is the stable orbit that keeps the group grounded. As their manager, he juggles schedules, fan events, snacks, and crises, all with a cheerfulness that makes him more part of the family than just staff. He is a bit clumsy, yes, but also the logistical pillar of the group.

Bobby radiates warmth, kindness, and caring. His instinct is always to encourage, never to belittle.

When the girls argue, he brings in snacks to comfort them.

When tensions rise, he uses humor or reassurance instead of reprimanding.

He treats the members with familiarity and affection, celebrating their victories and worrying about their struggles.

Fe makes him the ultimate “team dad” figure—his happiness comes from maintaining harmony.

Si (Introverted Sensing) – The Stable Routine

As an ESFJ, Bobby creates and needs structure. He is the one keeping track of schedules, booking backup dancers, and ensuring water bottles are ready after shows.

He respects tradition—like caring about the Idol Awards and fan expectations—because consistency and order are what stabilize him.

His routines provide stability to a group whose life is otherwise chaotic (demons, betrayals, supernatural threats…).

Bobby is not just rigid. His playful side bursts forth in outbursts of overflowing enthusiasm: dancing with Zoey, wearing silly costumes, or encouraging fan-made ship art. He is willing to embrace the absurd, which makes him approachable and beloved, not just a “suit manager.”

Ti (Introverted Thinking) – The Blind Spot

Bobby isn’t very good at cold analysis or strategy. When chaos erupts, his instinct is not to create a master plan but to keep everyone calm and moving forward. This can sometimes leave him slightly lost when faced with supernatural stakes, but it’s also what makes him charming; his role isn’t to dissect but to support.

Why ESFJ fits Bobby

  • Cheerful Guardian: Always prioritizes the needs and happiness of the group.
  • Reliable and Routine-Oriented: Keeps order behind the scenes.
  • Expressive and Approachable: Uses humor and warmth to ease tensions.

Bobby shows us the best of ESFJ energy: the caregiver who keeps the family running, the glue that holds everything together.

Jinu SajaENTP, The Visionary Trickster

As the leader of the Saja Boys, Jinu hides centuries of regret behind a charismatic smile and a bag full of tricks. He constantly struggles with the gap between who he is and who he pretends to be.

Jinu thrives on possibilities. He never meets a situation he can’t turn into a fresh angle or a new plan.

He transforms a confrontation with HUNTR/X into a variety show-like game, just for the thrill it provides.

He deflects suspicion with charm and humor, never letting anyone pin him down.

Even in battle, he is unpredictable, conjuring water demons one moment, teasing his opponents the next.

Ne makes him adaptable, magnetic, and incredibly difficult to understand. He is always a step off from what you expect.

Ti (Introverted Thinking) – The Rationalizer

Underneath the antics, Jinu simply justifies everything for himself. Agreeing to the deal with Gwi-Ma? Logical at the time; he needed a way out of poverty. Serving Gwi-Ma centuries later? It makes sense if it leads to erasing his guilt.

His Ti manifests in his tendency to omit details when recounting his past to Rumi, leaving out parts that would make him seem weak or selfish.

He dissects situations and only presents what supports his narrative, using logic as a smoke screen.

Fe (Extraverted Feeling) – The Charmer (and Manipulator)

Jinu’s charisma is undeniable. He knows how to play a crowd, with Rumi, even with strangers. But for him, Fe is a tool, sometimes authentic, sometimes manipulative.

He flirts with Rumi, using empathy to hit her insecurities regarding her demonic heritage.

He charms fans and elders in the same way, even if it leaves him baffled in embarrassing human moments (like when he gets mistaken for Rumi’s boyfriend).

Yet, when it’s crucial, he shows flashes of real humanity; he spared Rumi when he could have attacked her, treated gifts with care, and softened in front of a child’s drawing.

Fe is both his greatest mask and his last link to humanity.

Si (Introverted Sensing) – The Curse of Memory

ENTPs are not naturally past-oriented, but all of Jinu’s arc is haunted by memory. His pact with Gwi-Ma, abandoning his family, the shame of betrayal—all burn in the background. He yearns for these memories to be erased because they are the only thing he cannot charm or deceive away.

His demonic marks are scars of his past, etched into his body.

Why ENTP fits Jinu

  • Intelligent Trickster: Turns battles into games, bends rules to his liking.
  • Charmer but Unreliable: Draws people in but never shows his full hand.
  • Haunted Visionary: Seeks to reinvent himself, desperate to escape the weight of the past.
  • Double Nature: The entertainer who hides a tragic flaw under jokes.

Rumi: The ENFJ, The Charismatic Protagonist

Rumi Kang perfectly embodies the ENFJ type, the Protagonist. As the leader of HUNTR/X, she is magnetic and determined, bearing the weight of her team’s well-being on her shoulders. Her extraverted intuition (Fe) drives her to protect and inspire others, even at the expense of her own comfort. Rumi is guided by a long-term vision, that of creating the Golden Honmoon, which gives profound meaning to her fight against demons. Her ability to read emotions and maintain harmony within the group makes her a central and influential figure. Despite personal challenges, including her semi-demonic nature, Rumi perseveres, showing remarkable resilience. Her balance between introverted intuition (Ni) and extraverted feeling (Fe) makes her an inspiring leader, capable of motivating her team and navigating complex situations with grace.

Zoey: The ENFP, The Enthusiastic Adventurer

Zoey Jo-i, as an ENFP, brings a vibrant and creative energy to HUNTR/X. Her extraverted intuition (Ne) constantly generates new ideas and sees possibilities where others see obstacles. As the maknae and main rapper, Zoey balances her playful temperament with impressive combat skills, wielding enchanted knives with surprising dexterity. Her introverted feeling (Fi) reveals emotional depth, allowing her to connect authentically with her teammates and express her values through her lyrics. Despite her tendency to be easily distracted, Zoey remains an essential pillar of the group, bringing warmth and optimism even in the darkest moments. Her ability to improvise and adapt quickly makes her a valuable ally and a source of inspiration for everyone around her.

Mira: The ISFP, The Rebel Artist

Mira, representing the ISFP type, is the rebellious artist of HUNTR/X. Her passionate and reactive nature makes her formidable both on stage and in battle. As the lead dancer, she combines grace and precision, using each movement as an expression of her authentic self. Her introverted feeling (Fi) gives her emotional depth, allowing her to stay true to herself and advocate her values without compromise. Mira is also endowed with strong introverted intuition (Ni), enabling her to detect lies and hidden truths, making her indispensable for maintaining cohesion within the team. While her temperament can sometimes be impulsive, her loyalty and commitment to her friends strengthen the group, making her a key figure and a source of emotional stability.

Celine: The ISTJ, The Traditional Guardian

Celine embodies the ISTJ, the reliable and structured guardian of HUNTR/X. A former member of the Sunlight Sisters, she embodies values of tradition, discipline, and responsibility. Her introverted sensing (Si) makes her attentive to details and respectful of rituals, ensuring that traditions are preserved and passed on to new recruits. Celine uses her extraverted thinking (Te) to maintain order and efficiency within the team, setting clear goals and ensuring they are met with rigor. Although sometimes perceived as rigid and inflexible, her loyalty to Rumi and desire to protect the team show a softer and deeply personal aspect of her personality. Celine is the solid pillar on which the structure of HUNTR/X rests, ensuring that each mission is carried out with precision and integrity.

Bobby: The ESFJ, The Caring Guardian

Bobby, as an ESFJ, is the kind-hearted and organized guardian of HUNTR/X. As the manager, he handles schedules, fan events, and the daily needs of the team with exemplary efficiency. His introverted sensing (Si) allows him to create stable routines, essential for maintaining order in an often chaotic environment. Through his extraverted feeling (Fe), Bobby maintains harmony within the group, providing constant support and encouragement. His optimistic attitude and sense of humor defuse tensions and strengthen bonds among team members. Although sometimes a bit disorganized in crisis situations, his dedication and ability to anticipate the needs of others make him an indispensable asset. Bobby embodies the spirit of collaboration and support, ensuring that every member feels valued and heard.

Jinu Saja: The ENTP, The Visionary Trickster

Jinu Saja, representing the ENTP type, is the ingenious visionary and sometimes manipulative member of the Saja Boys. His extraverted intuition (Ne) allows him to constantly seek new opportunities and turn every situation into a strategic game. Charismatic and persuasive, Jinu uses his introverted feeling (Ti) to rationalize his actions and justify his choices, even those tinged with regret or guilt. His ability to improvise and adapt quickly makes him unpredictable and hard to pin down, which is both his strength and his weakness. Jinu also utilizes his extraverted feeling (Fe) to charm and manipulate those around him, often masking his true intentions behind an engaging smile. Despite his flaws, Jinu sometimes shows flashes of genuine humanity, revealing an internal struggle between his aspirations and tumultuous past. His duality as a trickster and visionary enriches the character dynamics and adds intriguing complexity to the story.
